A woman received a surprising note after she left her car at a restaurant following a night of drinking.
Paula Grzelak-Schultz was at a local restaurant called “Original Joe’s” with her husband one night, according to Inspire More. The couple had a bit too much to drink and made the responsible decision to take an Uber ride home rather than either of them trying to drive.
The next day, the couple found something truly unexpected upon returning to their car. Rather than a complaint or any damage to the car after leaving it overnight, Paula and her husband found a very pleasant note from the restaurant’s management, with an extra special surprise inside.
“Just wanted to thank you for leaving your car parked overnight,” the note read. “I’m not sure if you had consumed alcohol at our restaurant or not, but we wanted to thank you for not drinking and driving. Enclosed is voucher good for 1lb of our delicious chicken wings. Please accept this as a thank you for being responsible. Life is valuable, have a great weekend.”
The note was left by the restaurant’s managing partner, Jay McLean, who told Inspire More that he started leaving the notes in an effort to keep drunk drivers off the road. He wants to fight drunk driving through generosity and positive examples.
Paula shared a photo of the note on her Facebook page which went viral, receiving more than 20,000 likes and 8,000 shares.
