President Donald Trump made his nomination for Supreme Court justice official last night in a room filled with ecstatic conservatives proud of his pick to replace the late Antonin Scalia. Judge Neil Gorsuch is a constitutionalist like his predecessor and also a dear friend of the deceased jurist whose widow was in the room for the announcement when the camera caught what our incredible president quietly did to her.
President Trump has proven to be the professional and capable leader that Democrats claimed he was not. Not only has he taken the White House by storm, he’s brought class back, as was seen when he honored Scalia’s widow, Maureen, last night with an incredible gesture that Barack Obama would have never done for anyone other than the family of a thug killed by cops.
After making his public announcement about his pick for SCOTUS, he almost immediately addressed the late jurist’s widow in the room.
“Also with us tonight is Maureen Scalia, a woman loved by her husband and deeply respected by all,” Trump said with a pause to the audience gathered at the White House last night. “I am so happy she’s with us.” He then invited her to stand so he and everyone there could honor her husband’s memory and the incredible impact he had on our nation in saying, “she is really the ultimate representative of the late, great Justice Antonin Scalia whose image and genius was in my mind throughout the decision-making process.”
President Trump’s nomination for SCOTUS was well received as was this heartwarming gesture for the widow of this brilliant man. Had Hillary Clinton been elected president, Scalia would have been forgotten and his widow disregarded. We have a leader who understands the values that this nation was built on and with his pick of Judge Neil Gorsuch, he wants to ensure that we get back to preserving our constitution. Trump continually provides proof that presidents can keep their promises.
