TV Star Found Dead – What We Know So Far

Former “Survivor” contestant Dan Kay reportedly died unexpectedly at the age of 40.

Kay, a contestant on “Survivor: Gabon,” died on New Year’s Eve, several years after his appearance on the hit show.

Kay, according to his obituary from the Lambert Funeral Home in New Hampshire, was born in 1976 in Massachusetts and was survived by two young children and a girlfriend, as well as his mother and sister. His father predeceased him in 2015.

Kay, the obituary stated, worked as an attorney. It also revealed that in his spare time, Kay enjoyed running, skiing, listening to music and attending church services.

“I don’t know how he died but I do know he spoke highly of his children and how much he loved them. He was an amazing guy and I got to hang out with him in Boston a few months ago,” said “Survivor: Cook Islands” cast member Cristina Coria to Heavy. “I have nothing but great things to say about him.”

On Twitter, “Survivor” host Jeff Probst confirmed Kay’s death, saying that it was “sudden” and offering his condolences.

Many “Survivor” fans offered their condolences as well, writing in the guest book about the impact he had on their lives.

“Such sad news. I am deeply saddened by his passing. He was my ‘Survivor buddy’ on season 17 and I remember his tattoo ‘Carpe Diem’ and his zest for life,” one fan wrote. “My love, prayers and condolences to his family and friends. His Survivor family is feeling struck by his passing too. Many are asking and we are all deeply saddened. RIP Dan.”

Others expressed their sorrow toward his mother about the passing of her son.

“There’s no word that can express how sorry we are to hear about the death of your son Daniel. We were very stunned to hear this news and still can’t believe that it really happened,” one mourner wrote.

“During this difficult moment, our thoughts are always with you and the members of your family.”

Kay’s cause of death has not yet been revealed.
