Video footage shows the incredible moment firefighters in China pull nine puppies and a pregnant dog from the debris of a collapsed house.
The animals had been trapped for about four days until they were rescued on October 27, reports Huanqiu, an affiliation with the People’s Daily Online.
Rescuers spent two days trying to get the dogs out of the rubble in Jingdezhen, China’s Jiangxi province.
According to reports, locals called emergency services upon realising the dogs were trapped in the rubble.
It took them a total of two days to rescue the animals.
In the footage, post by Xinhua News Agency to Facebook, four rescuers can be seen using their bare hands to dig while one rescuer puts his arm down a giant hole.
Eventually he pulls out a puppy from the rubble.
He then goes again, using a torch to search for the animals before putting down his arm to try and grab hold of more of the puppies.
After some time, more puppies are rescued by the men.
According to reports, the animals belonged to an elderly woman who was in hospital when her house was demolished.
Workers failed to notice the animals when they carried out the demolition.
The rescued puppies were then covered in towels and blankets.
The dogs are now being cared for by an animal protection association.
