Artists made political statements at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards show.

Singer Joy Villa was no exception as she walked the red carpet in a skin-tight, red, white and blue dress with President Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan prominently featured down the front.

The dress also had the president’s last name written across the train in sparkles.

Villa first showed up at the event in a white-caped gown that hid her dress underneath, the Daily Mail reports. Her unveiling of the dress had a dramatic effect at the Awards show that is famous for being frequented by liberal attendees.

The 25-year-old, who was not nominated for an award, posted pictures of herself in her controversial gown with her heart-inspired purse to Instagram. She wrote as a caption: “My whole artistic platform is about LOVE! I couldn’t be where I am today without the love and tenderness of those beautiful supporters and friends around me.

“Thanks you I hope you enjoy tonight’s [Grammy Awards 2017] and remember to forget your problems and focus on your future! You are infinite and beautiful and no one can stop you but you.

“So go out and celebrate yourself as a winner no matter what, together with those you adore!” she continued.

According to The Blaze, however, liberals were incensed by the dress, calling Villa an “attention seeker” and “troll” on social media.

Some users pointed out the singer is not well-known and pronounced that she had ended her career by wearing the dress.

“[Joy Villa] imagine choosing to end your career before anyone even knew who you were,” one user tweeted.

“How much did he pay you,” another Twitter user asked.

Some apparent Trump supporters on Twitter meanwhile looked favorably upon Villa’s decision to wear the political gown, calling her “courageous,” “brave,” and a “true American.”

This is not the first time Villa has made a statement on the red carpet. She is noted for wearing revealing or controversial outfits to big celebrity events.

The singer’s pro-Trump gown was designed by Andre Soriano.

In response to her critics on Instagram, Villa wrote: “Sometimes you just gotta be free to express yourself.

“Thank you to all my supporters and fellow believers. Life is about living free and loving it. Be your beautiful selves tonight!”

In recent years, the starlet has been listed as one of the “Worst Dressed” at the Grammy Awards for her eccentric outfits.

The singer bills herself as an actress, singer-songwriter, feminist and vegan bikini bodybuilder on social media. Her Twitter account also states that she was “Grammy-considered.”
