Whenever I see an adoption center or animal shelter, I want to save every single animal that needs a home.
But I currently have too many animals as it is, so I’ve been banned by my family. Until I can adopt more animals, I encourage all of my friends to adopt and I donate to my local shelters to help.
It is easy to think that shelters have enough, but that is almost never the case. They can always use more food, more people helping out, more cat litter — they basically can use more of everything.
One thing I didn’t realize that animal shelters need more of are beds! How silly is that to overlook? Of course, animals need a comfy place to sleep!
Over the months of July and August, the RSPCA Victoria in Burwood East, near Melbourne, Australia, encouraged all people visiting the shelter to bring in an animal bed when they bought a new one.
This openness with their community allowed them to collect 100 animal beds, meaning 100 shelter animals now have somewhere to call their own, until it’s time to move to their forever home!
In the video below, you can see all of these animals making themselves comfortable on their new beds! Those wagging tails are more than enough to make me smile.
If you love seeing the good side of animal shelters like this, you will also love this shelter looking to thank the wonderful donor who mysteriously left them an $8,000 cash donation.
