A 16-year-old girl from Michigan led her family and friends to believe she was pregnant with triplets until someone got suspicious.

The unidentified teen from Wyandotte reportedly used the FakeABaby.com website to trick people into believing she was pregnant so she could receive thousands of dollars worth of gifts, according to Fox 2 Detroit.

On the website, you can buy fake baby bumps for $149. The site also sells other items to fake a pregnancy, including fake ultrasound images.

The teenager reportedly had everybody in her life fooled about the pregnancy, including her 16-year-old boyfriend, Jordan.

“I was excited, don’t get me wrong, but I was scared,” Jordan, who maintains he did not know about the pregnancy being fake, told Fox 2 Detroit. “I started looking for jobs the best I could. I was ready to donate all my time.”

As the fake pregnancy progressed, the teen’s family started to prepare for the birth. More and more gifts started flowing in.

“The gifts, they couldn’t even open at the shower there was so much,” the teen’s aunt Jessica Adams said of the baby shower.

As the due date approached, the family started to become suspicious as no one had ever been to the doctor with the teen.

A Facebook user in a group for mothers of triplets, of which the teen was a member, was the one to point out that the girl’s ultrasounds were not real.

When the teen was confronted, she broke down and told detectives she had had a miscarriage at six weeks.

The girl’s brother said all of the donations and gifts she received would be returned.

It is believed that, while unclear exactly which items from FakeaBaby.com the girl used, she likely bought fake ultrasounds from the site along with a fake pregnancy belly.

The website says its items are intended to be used as gags.

  1. What the hell why would you fake a pregnancy, yeah there’s a lot of teens getting pregnant as in fact I’m a teen and I’m pregnant, but there’s some things I just don’t get and this is one of them, me my self I couldn’t believe you would do that why not just tell them you have had a miscarriage instead of lying.
