A 17-year-old girl from India reportedly cut off a man’s penis after he had attempted to rape her at knifepoint.

According to the Hindustan Times, the teen girl went to relieve herself at a jungle in the Incholi area, a village in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

A 23-year-old man, later identified as Raees, stopped the teen and attempted to force himself on her at knifepoint, according to a report from India.com.

The teen then snatched the knife from the rapist and used it to cut off his penis.

Villagers rushed to the scene after hearing a commotion and saw the teen holding the rapist’s penis in her hand.

Police arrived at the scene shortly after and filed a complaint against the attacker on behalf of the teen.

The attacker was reportedly rushed to the hospital, where he was said to be in serious condition.

Police say that following the incident, they have taken measures to increase security in the village as the attacker is reportedly from a different community.

The story comes following a similar story, which also occurred in India, in which a man was allegedly killed and castrated by a woman after he attempted to rape her. The woman buried the man’s body in a crematorium with the help of friends after the attempted rape.

The Hindustan Times reports that Rita Orang killed Krishna Bhumij with an axe after he tried to rape her and her daughter in their own home.

“After he fell on his back, I chopped off his private parts as I thought he might survive the attack and retaliate,” Orang said.

Krishna did not survive, however, and his body was reportedly buried by Orang and seven of her friends.

Police say they are investigating the incident and the role of the women who helped Orang, saying they will “take action if necessary.”
