Obama’s Quiet Behind The Scenes Plan To Sabotage President Trump Revealed

The political action group that grew out of former President Barack Obama’s first campaign is poised for a comeback.

Organizing For Action (OFA), which had been mostly dormant and would likely have remained so had former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton been elected instead of President Donald Trump, is now being revived to fight the Trump agenda, reports NBC News.

According to the organization’s website, the group is “committed to mobilizing and training the next generation of progressive organizers and leaders.”

Although Obama has no legal affiliation with the group, his name is still gold among Democratic donors and voters, and thus the group is an obvious base for pursuing his post-presidency interests.

Jennifer Warner remains the group’s national organizing director, and former Clinton campaign spokesperson Jesse Lehrich is the new communication director.

It is co-chaired by Obama 2012 campaign manager Jim Messina and former White House aide Jon Carson. Katie Hogan is executive director, Jack Shapiro is director of policy and campaigns, and Aaron Buchner is chief of staff.

Defending Obamacare is one of OFA’s primary goals, and it has hired 14 field organizers in key battleground states. In addition, the groups says it has planned 400 health care-focused events in 42 states in partnership with liberal groups such as the Center for American Progress, Planned Parenthood and MoveOn.org.

Lehrich summarized the group’s strategy in an email:

There are important progressive organizations that mobilize supporters around key issues of the day and OFA has great partnerships with many of them. OFA fills a unique role by investing in organizing to build a lasting and successful progressive movement. We’re bringing in thousands of new people who have never been engaged before, connecting them to a nationwide grassroots network, providing them with cost-free training, and empowering them to apply those skills to make change in their communities.

In an OFA conference call soon after Trump’s surprise election, Obama gave a hint of his future plans, reports the New York Post. “You’re going to see me early next year … and we’re going to be in a position where we can start cooking up all kinds of great stuff.”
