Over the past few years, we have seen an increase in idiots blocking the streets when protesting their insane cause. These mental midgets somehow believe that they will win the hearts and minds of people by blocking traffic.
Like I said, they are not too bright.
At any rate, we have seen these people disrupt the lives of others for their absurd protests time and time again. For instance, earlier this year anti-cop protesters in Portland, Oregon took to the streets to block traffic because they can’t stand cops. What this had to do with their protest is beyond me, but that is what they chose to do.
So, instead of the police allowing these idiots in Portland to disrupt everyone’s day they took action. The Portland police arrested 14 people as a result of their stupidity, but of course, there were more.
Again, in February anti-Trump protesters blocked traffic that prevented an ambulance carrying a critically ill patient. Because of these protesters, the ambulance workers were forced to do an emergency procedure in the ambulance instead of the hospital.
More from WTIC:
State police and New Haven police eventually found and identified the leader of the protest, Norman Clement, 67, of New Haven, on the corner of Church and Chapel streets in New Haven.
Clement ran away from police through the crowd, knocking over several of his supporters, before being apprehended, according to state police, and Clement then actively resisted arrest and was sprayed with pepper spray.
Clement was charged with inciting a riot, disorderly conduct, interfering with an officer and reckless use of the highway by a pedestrian.
I mean honestly, after I have seen these videos I always think, “why not just run them over?” Well, it seems that one state agrees with that thought and has decided that enough is enough.
North Carolina has passed a bill that would allow drivers to drive through protesters who are blocking the streets and not get sued as long as they use ” exercise due care.” So in essence what this means is that as long as the motorist does not plow through protesters like a bowling ball, they are in the clear.
It is titled HB 330, and it will protect drivers from any civil liability if they hit someone who is blocking traffic in a public right of way.
Here is an excerpt from the bill:
“§ 1‑539.13 Immunity from civil liability for certain automobile drivers.
(a)A person driving an automobile who is exercising due care and injures another person who is participating in a protest or demonstration and is blocking traffic in a public right‑of‑way is immune from civil liability for the injury.
(b)A person shall not be immune from civil liability if the actions leading to the injury were willful or wanton.”
SECTION 3. This act is effective when it becomes law and applies to injuries occurring on or after that date.
From Charlotte Stories:
It was introduced by Republican Justin Burr and “provides that a person driving an automobile while exercising due care is immune for civil liability for any injury to another if the injured person was participating in a demonstration or protest and blocking traffic.”
“As we’ve seen, time and time again, as folks run out in the middle of the streets and the interstates in Charlotte and attempt to block traffic,” Burr said. The Republican commented that he wants to ensure that “drivers don’t have to fear driving through Charlotte or anywhere in North Carolina.”
“This bill does not allow for the driver of a vehicle to target protesters intentionally,” he added. “It does protect individuals who are rightfully trying to drive down the road.”
Charlotte saw a number of roads blocked after the death of Keith Lamont Scott and the protests that followed last year. During the second night of the protests, rioting erupted in Uptown Charlotte, with one person being shot and killed.
Here is the rioting that took place last year that prompted the bill.
Of course, after watching this chaos, it makes sense that a law like this would be formulated. These people are not protesting but are just causing destruction in the name of free speech. These rioters are impeding on others freedom of getting to work or receiving proper medical care. They have every right to gather peacefully and voice their concerns, but not if it infringes on others.
And here’s an awesome video of idiot lib & BLM protesters being run over by pissed off drivers who have now achieved national hero status.
I am hoping that more states will adopt similar bills to stop this insanity. Maybe if more states assure motorists that they will not be harmed, these protesters will stop their childish antics soon.
What do you think about North Carolina’s new bill? Do you think it will deter these violent protesters? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
