A family from Grand Rapids, Michigan, miraculously survived a devastating car wreck on Nov. 21, and the father said he believes it was the “hand of God” that protected them.
Martin Molina’s son, daughter and three grandchildren were involved in a wreck on Interstate 96 in Grand Rapids that occurred when the son, Martin Shea Molina, Jr., lost control of their car in icy conditions and collided with a fire truck that was parked on the side of the highway.
“I could have lost them all, that time, one shot,” he said. Remarkably, all of Molina’s loved ones survived the crash. He told Fox 17 he knows the exact reason they all came out alive.
“From the reports I got, they didn’t think that there were going to be any survivors. It was God’s hand that just took care of them,” he said.
“My grandkids, being that it crushed on my son, protected my grandkids. Those seats went back and just covered them. That was God’s hand.”
All five are reportedly recovering from various injuries sustained in the crash. Brandy Grigsby, Molina’s daughter, suffered head trauma and two of the three grandchildren broke their collar bones.
After the accident, Molina had one message to drivers across his state: “Be aware. Be aware and slow down. This is winter time, and we need to slow down.”
