Ivanka Trump is reportedly upset with Kellyanne Conway’s recent endorsement of her clothing brand on Fox News.

The president’s daughter “scolded” Conway for “dragging her into this mess,” said sources close President Donald Trump, reports Politico. She reportedly also told Conway not to mention it again on TV.

In her Feb. 9 Fox News appearance, Conway urged viewers to purchase Ivanka’s products after the announcement by Nordstrom and other retailers that they were discontinuing them due to poor sales caused by the #GrabYourWallet boycott, reports Cosmopolitan magazine.

“Go buy Ivanka’s stuff, is what I would tell you,” said Conway said in response to the boycott. “It’s a wonderful line. I own some of it. I fully — I’m going to just, I’m going to give a free commercial here: Go buy it today, everybody. You can find it online.”

Conway’s endorsement remains controversial because federal law bars public employees from making an “endorsement of any product, service or enterprise, or for the private gain of friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity.”

Bipartisan condemnation of her remarks quickly ensued, notes The Washington Post.

Republican Jason Chaffetz and Democrat Elijah Cummings submitted a letter to the Office of Government Ethics requesting that the agency investigate Conway’s comments and recommend to the president that “appropriate disciplinary action be brought against” her.

In response, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer told the media that Conway had been “counseled” on the matter.

Even before Conway’s controversial endorsement, Ivanka had made a personal request to her father that his administration leave her business out of politics, according to Politico. But he went on to tweet about her business anyway, claiming that she “has been treated so unfairly by [Nordstrom].”

Conway, who currently has the ambiguous title of “counselor,” allegedly has her sights set on becoming chief of staff.
