An Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan has been found dead with a gunshot wound to the head.
USA Today reports that 51-year-old Missouri resident Frank Ancona was reported missing Feb. 10. His car was then discovered by a U.S. Federal Forest Service employee on FFS Property. Authorities searched the surrounding area, but found no trace of Ancona’s body.
It wasn’t until the following day when a family fishing near Belgrade, Missouri, found Ancona’s remains on the river bank. Police report that Ancona’s body was discovered with a bullet wound to the head.
Ancona’s wife Melissa claims that Ancona told her he was driving across state lines to deliver a part from work, and that she had not heard from him since. She also alleges that Ancona had claimed he wanted a divorce from her when he returned home. The same day he disappeared, Melissa placed an ad on Facebook seeking a roommate to help her with rent.
Officers also discovered a safe, which appeared to have been damaged with a crowbar, containing Ancona’s firearms.
Ancona, identified as the Imperial Wizard of the Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, once wrote the following on the group’s website:
The media will tell you The KKK is dead, gone, irrelevant, They have tried since the birth of the Klan to downplay the influence and power of the KKK … Let me tell you they are the haters. They have engaged in a campaign to destroy our Race, culture, and heritage.
Reactions to Ancona’s death soon appeared on social media, and many were unsympathetic. One Facebook user wrote, “A person murdered another person, even though the person murdered is the scum of the earth it was still done illegally and we should not be happy about that.”
Another added to Facebook, “Lol sound like the wife had him killed or killed him herself … either way. … who cares … ohh wait many do, one less idiot in this world thank you!!!”
The investigation into Ancona’s death is ongoing.
