Here’s A List Of Hollywood Stars Who Promised To Leave America If Trump Won

Many celebrities were horrified by the prospect of Republican nominee Donald Trump becoming president and vowed to abandon the U.S. if Trump managed to win the White House. Trump was declared the victor of the U.S. presidential election on Nov. 9, so it’s time to see if these celebrities will honor their pledges.

Here are the celebrities who said they would move to another country if Trump won:

Bryan Cranston

The actor from “Breaking Bad” said in an interview with the hosts of the podcast The Bestseller Experiment that he “would definitely move” if Trump won. “It’s not real to me that that would happen. I hope to God it won’t,” he said, adding that he would consider moving to Vancouver, Newsday reports.

Lena Dunham

The creator of and lead actor in HBO series “Girls” commented there is a “100 percent chance” she will move to Canada if Trump became president. “I love Canada. I think that it’s a great place, and there’s an area in Vancouver that I find beautiful and appealing, and I can conduct business from there,” the actress said in April.

Neve Campbell

The actress on hit TV series “House of Cards” is a Canadian citizen and stated she would be happy to return to her home country. “They see someone off the cuff and broad, and they think ‘OK, that’s the voice we need, just someone honest,'” Campbell told The Huffington Post of Trump’s popularity. “But his honesty is terrifying.”

Ne-Yo

R&B singer Ne-Yo said he would quickly move to Canada if Trump became president. “Me and Drake gonna be neighbors if Donald Trump becomes president,” the star told TMZ in October.

Raven-Symone

In February, Raven-Symone stated on talk show “The View” that she would relocate to Canada “if any Republican gets nominated,” International Business Times reports.

Chelsea Handler

While talking to the hosts of “Live with Kelly and Michael” in May, comedian Chelsea Handler said: “I did buy a house in another country just in case, so all of these people that threaten to leave the country and then don’t, I will leave the country.”

Keegan-Michael Key

Actor and comedian Keegan-Michael Key of “Key & Peele” fame told TMZ earlier in 2016 he would consider moving to Canada if Trump becomes president. He said, “It’s like, 10 minutes from Detroit; that’s where I’m from. My mom lives there. It’d make her happy, too.”

Stephen King

Best-selling author Stephen King also said that he would move to Canada if Trump were elected. In an interview with The Washington Post, he said, “A Trump presidency scares me more than anything else. I’m terrified that he’ll become president.”

Whoopi Goldberg

“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg said she would like to leave the country if Trump was elected president. “I don’t think that’s America,” she said. “I don’t want it to be America. Maybe it’s time for me to move, you know.”

Samuel L. Jackson

During a segment called “Hateful Eight Ball” on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in December 2015, the actor, voicing the “psychic,” responded to the question “Will Donald Trump be our next president?” by saying, “If that [expletive] becomes president, I’ll move my black a** to South Africa.”

Amy Schumer

Comedian Amy Schumer said in an interview with Emily Maitlis on BBC’s “Newsnight” that she may move to Spain if Trump becomes president. “I will need to learn to speak Spanish because I will move to Spain or somewhere… It’s beyond my comprehension if Trump won. It’s too crazy.”

Jon Stewart

Former “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart told People magazine when asked about his thoughts on a Trump presidency, “I would consider getting in a rocket and going to another planet, because clearly this planet’s gone bonkers.”

The Rev. Al Sharpton

Civil rights activist the Rev. Al Sharpton said at a Center for American Progress event in February 2016 that he was “reserving his ticket” in the event that Trump became president. “If Donald Trump is the nominee… I’m also receiving my ticket to get out of here if he wins. Only because he’d probably have me deported anyhow.”
