A Texas A&M college student crashed into a police car while taking a topless selfie for her boyfriend on Oct. 26.

“I heard the sound of a vehicle braking hard and heard what sounded like a vehicle collision,” Bryan P.D. Officer John Sartell wrote in his report, according to KHOU.

When Sartell approached the 19-year-old college freshman, he said her bra was undone and she was attempting to put her black blouse back on.

The girl later confessed to posing for a revealing photo while driving.

“I asked her why she was not dressed while driving and she stated that she was taking a Snapchat photo to send to her boyfriend while she was at the red light,” Sartell wrote, Heavy.com reports.

Police say they eventually found an open bottle of wine in the woman’s car.

When she performed the sobriety test, Sartell says she “swayed continuously” and failed.

“Don’t Drink and Drive! Don’t #snapchat photos to your boyfriend and drive!” the City of Bryan police department later wrote on social media while posting about the incident.

The student was charged with driving while intoxicated with an open container.

No injuries were reported.

While many condemned the girl for her poor judgment, some wondered if the police department went too far plastering such a young woman’s face and name all over the internet.3“I’m glad I didn’t grow up in an age where the city police department … put you on blast to the world for making a mistake, albeit a very serious one,” wrote one man on the police department’s Facebook page.

“DUI also goes on your record and can make it extremely difficult for someone coming out of college to get a job,” he added. “Putting them all over the internet like this is going to make it even worse. Again, not condoning her choices in any way – I just think it’s inappropriate for the police department to put this on their facebook page.”

Others disagreed.

“I’d rather be blasted for a mistake that I can live to correct than to might have killed a cop and loose my schooling-engineering degree …,” one woman shot back. “This is just a lesson in life that people will forget and she can graduate school and make 100,000.00 plus a year! Life is all about lessons.”
