A Georgia woman says she was brought to tears when she saw what her 17-year-old nephew was doing at the dollar store.
Connie Bell Jenkins Sweet says she was running errands with her 17-year-old nephew, Senquavious Driver, when the teen spotted an elderly woman having trouble.
“We were about to pull off and leave when she was trying to get out of her car, but she was struggling to get on the sidewalk,” Sweet told FOX 5. “She could barely walk.”
Sweet said that her nephew said that he thought the woman could use some help, then he saw that she nearly fell and quickly jumped out of the car to lend her a hand.
“He helped her in the store and shopped with her and he walked her back out to her car,” Sweet said. “She was only going in for a soda, but she barely could even get in the store.”
The woman, who is 81-years-old told the teen that she had recently fallen and injured her back and face.
Sweet says that she took photos of Driver helping the elderly woman and was in tears thinking about how proud she was of her nephew.
“I was in tears taking pictures because he didn’t hesitate to help her, and that made my heart happy,” Sweet told FOX 5. “I’m so proud of him because I know and love the last that raised him, my sissy.”
Sweet says that the woman was very appreciative of the teen’s help and repeatedly thanked him.
“I have an awesome nephew,” Sweet wrote in a Facebook post. “I pray to God he continues to do great things in his life.”
