According to several reports, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have considered leaving the country as a result of President-elect Donald Trump’s Election Day victory.
Sources revealed to Hollywood Life that West has been threatening to leave the country following incidents of racism and as a result of Trump’s controversial election. West reportedly said he doesn’t want his daughter to face overt racism because of Trump’s rise to power. Recent incidents that include someone calling Kim a “ni**** lover” have contributed to the couple’s desire to leave.
The incident occurred as Kardashian was entering a medical building in California. A teen allegedly called her the racist term and then threatened her life, Conservative 101 reported.
West is considering leaving the country because his family has “enough money to build” their own island. “I’ll be damned if I raise my daughter around ignorance and flat-out blatant racism,” he reportedly said.
West confided in a source that he was scared to eventually explain Trump’s victory to his daughter.
“You know I’m dreading the day I’ve got to break this sh** down to North and tell my little girl how fu**** up the world is. I don’t ever want her to go through what her mother did today,” he said.
The election has also caused a continued rift in the Kardashian family, especially given Caitlyn Jenner’s endorsement of the new president-elect.
“Kendall and Kylie [Jenner] are the most devastated in the family over this. They never thought [Donald] Trump would win. There’s been tension between them and Caitlyn throughout the campaign, but it’s much worse now that Trump has won,” a source told Hollywood Life.
“They can’t understand how Caitlyn could support Trump. They’re angry and very disillusioned and that’s taking a huge toll on their relationship with Caitlyn — it’s tearing them apart.”
Jenner has made statements of support toward Trump in the past, many of which have sparked controversy.
“Trump seems to be very much for women. He seems very much behind the LGBT community because of what happened in North Carolina with the bathroom issue. He backed the LGBT community,” she said recently.
