A Pennsylvania couple has been found dead after the couple’s 7 year old daughter called her school to alert her teacher that she couldn’t wake her parents.
The Daily Mail reports that 26 year old Christopher Dilly and 25 year old Jessica Lally were found dead in their McKeesport, Pennsylvania apartment, and the suspected cause of death is a heroin overdose. Authorities found a 9 month old girl, 3 year old boy, and 7 year old girl at the home. All three were taken to a nearby hospital to be evaluated.
Apparently, the 7 year old contacted her school claiming that she couldn’t wake her parents, which prompted the school to call authorities.
Lt. Andrew Schurman says it appears that Dilly and Lally have been dead for at least a day or two, with no foul play being suspected. Evidence of drugs and drug paraphernalia was discovered in the home, and according to police, there was another fatal heroin overdose on the same street earlier in the same week. Autopsies are being conducted to establish the exact cause of death.
According to WPXI, neighbor Jordon McCallister claims he saw Dilly and Lally’s children over the weekend with no sign of their parents. Lally’s sister, Courtney, has also accused Jessica of being a drug addict and keeping the children in deplorable living conditions.
Courtney wrote the following on her Facebook wall:
‘this is how Jessica Leigh Lally lives with her children and Christopher Dilly flood Facebook with this in till it gets to them I want people to see what dirty bad parents they truly are its so sad they do not care about their children never have never will they beat their kids and make em stand in the corner all day they children are so damaged its not funny’.
She also attached several pictures of Jessica’s home to the post.
Courtney also claims that the children have been affected developmentally by Jessica’s drug use, with one of the daughters having to stay in the hospital a few extra days after her birth due to being born with drugs in her system. She also claims that she and Jessica’s mother raised the girl from infancy, which explains how she became a straight-A student at school.
The Department of Children and Youth Services had taken the children away from Lally and Dilly, only to return them to the custody of their parents.
It is unclear who will take care of the children now that both Lally and Dilly have passed.
